Jon Bon Jovi is full of surprises.
Just as JoviNation---his rabid worldwide fan base---accepted that he might take a couple years off after he closed the ‘Lost Highway’ tour with a performance in front of over 200,000 fans in New York’s Central Park, the rocker raised eyebrows and heartbeats around the world when he released his new CD, ‘The Circle’, and promptly announced an extensive world-wide tour.
Never one for understatement---after all, you can’t successfully create, run and manage a brand carrying your name without knowing something about promotion---Bon Jovi hit the road in November, 2009 after ‘The Circle’ debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, making a slew of appearances before formally kicking off his World Tour in Seattle this past February.
Still, with fans snapping up CD’s and selling out concert venues as though he hadn’t toured in years, Bon Jovi unveiled still more surprises: the set lists of his shows on this tour have dug deep into the vaults of over 100 million records sold as the band played songs live that hadn’t been played since the mid-to-late 1980’s.
“Runaway”, “Roulette”, and “Tokyo Road” showed up on the current tour, along with “Love For Sale”, “Something For The Pain”, and Bon Jovi’s Grammy-nominated solo hit, “Blaze of Glory”.
Times are good in JoviNation, and they are now about to get even better.
So, how do you top a new #1 CD and a world tour consistently selling out in a down economy?
Bon Jovi has announced that it will re-release Special Editions of his classic studio albums: Bon Jovi, 7800 Fahrenheit, Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, Keep The Faith, These Days, Crush, Bounce, Have A Nice Day, and Lost Highway.
Notice all of them are ‘Classic’?
But here’s the Jovi part: the re-issue albums will come with the original tracks, as well as exclusive live recordings included as bonus tracks!
According to USA Today, these bonus tracks will include live performances of Get Ready, In and Out Of Love, Blood On Blood, Keep The Faith, and the duet of Bon Jovi and Sugarland star Jennifer Nettles singing Who Says You Can’t Go Home.
So, JoviNation, thanks to Bon Jovi, Christmas comes this May 5. Not only that, but the album re-issues will feature new artwork and new liner notes. All coming to your favorite record store in time for Bon Jovi’s sold out shows at London’s 02 Arena, and the christening of the new Meadowlands Arena.
