The legendary American rock band Bon Jovi formed in 1983 with the lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres. That same month, they recorded the song "Stand By Me" featuring Iranian singer Andy Madadian. With this song they showed solidarity for the victims of violence in Iran.

For example in 2008 they were nominated for CMT Music Award, for Academy of Country Music Award and in the same year they had the great honor to be nominated for Grammy Award, category Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
