Last night, during the 4th night at New Meadowlands Stadium, Jon hurt his left leg. It looked pretty bad. The true professional that he is, Jon finished the song (luckily this was already the encore). He even joked that he has another leg, and that this must be because he is old (thought he did not forget to state that he still looks good)! It looked like a knee or a muscle injury to me. He could not bare too much weight on his left leg. Jon went on to sing one more song, ironically it was LOAP. He limped around and used his white mic stand to support himself. He went on to say that he just 'blew his calf muscle'. He looked to be in a lot of pain, and had to be helped off the stage. He got to the 'escape tunnel' entrance supported by David and Tico, but could not manage the stairs by himself. It looked like David practically handed Jon over to another guy in the tunnel.
Checking the injury.
Using the white mic stand to support himself.
Being helped off the stage.
The 'hand off'
Wishing Jon a quick recovery! Hope it was just a simple muscle spasm due to dehydration! Because the alternative is unthinkable at this stage of the tour....
From the Bon Jovi Facebook: Near the end of our show at New Meadowlands Stadium on Friday night, Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle. Jon made light of the injury & went on to close the show with their anthemic hit, 'Living On a Prayer.' The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity home-town crowd, & assisting Jon off the stage. The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer.
Other news reports are saying the same, and that it will not curtail their touring..
So torn calf muscle, OUCH... Bet we see less jumping and running .. but lots more singing
