Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi is getting ready to kick off the next leg of The Circle tour. The group hits the road again on February 9 in University Park, PA, and the tour wraps in Europe on July 31. After that, drummer Tico Torres says he would like to get some breathing room.
"I think we need to take a break," Torres told Billboard.com during a conference call with reporters. "It's a long, extensive tour since last February, not just the tour but putting it together, doing the record [The Circle]. It's a long process, and I think it's important for us to just get away from the audience for a bit. Sometimes you need to get away so people can appreciate you better, and you also have to get away to live your life and create and recharge... So the best thing I can tell you is we're gonna need a couple years off for sure."
However, guitarist Richie Sambora added, "We do need a little bit of a break, but not that much of a break, 'cause what's going to happen is there's more songs to be written and... Y'know, guess what? We want to be the Rolling Stones. I know I do." Sambora also said he had "an extensive conversation" with Jon Bon Jovi earlier this week and they basically came to the conclusion that they don't know "what the hell's gonna happen" after the tour.
The one thing that is clear though is that Jon himself will stay busy. He has stated his desire to make another solo album, and he's also looking to get back into acting. Bon Jovi has signed on to star in new movie called New Year's Eve alongside Robert De Niro and Halle Berry, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film follows a group of New Yorkers whose stories are intertwined as they attempt to get through a series of romantic and dramatic events on New Year's Eve, and it also features Zac Efron, Seth Meyers, Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank. New Year's Eve is currently set for release on December 9, 2011.
