My Bon Jovi Experience
Wellllllllll, I guess you want to hear how it went?............
First off, let me just sayyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I MISSED RICHIE!!
I'll start at the beginning. After getting through the lovely construction of Columbus , we got to the parking garage. Paid 10 bucks to park and made it to our section.
As some of you may know, who "known" me for almost 6 years, I have a deathly fear of heights. Hyperventilation, to the point of having trouble breathing, feeling like if I move, I'll fall to my death, etc.
If you have never experience that, I reallllllllllllllllllly don't recommend it.
Needless to say, i had trouble with our seats. We were in the third row, so I should have had no problem, right?
WRONG!!!!
The rows went down instead of up, sooooooooooooo Merry started hyperventing, etc.
John, my oldest son and I went to the show and he tried his darnedst to get me down there. I couldn't do it so the lady suggested going to guest services to change our seats.
They said they couldn't. The show was sold out.
So, we went back up. I said I'd stand for the whole show regardless, but the lady that was guiding us to our seats, said she'd talk to her supervisor and see what she could do.
She came back. This took a total of maybe 15 minutes, start to finish, but it seemed like it took hours.
Any we were seated before the band hit the stage.
Our seats?
IN THE FRONT ROW, RIGHT BY THE STAGE!!!!!
We saw the band enter the stage. Jon walked by us at least twice. We saw Matt and I think Tony.
Oh, and David finally turned around at one point (his back was to me most of the show) and I waved to him. He smiled at me, and nodded.
I about flipped out.
They performed most of their hits and tbh, if I didn't see Phil and I didn't most of the time, he was hidden by Bobby and or Jon., I closed my eyes and pretended it was Richie, although sometimes, when he hit a sour note (which he did a few times, btw) i knew he wasn't.
They didn't mention Richie at all during the show, until right before they performed Wanted, some chick in the audience had dolls that looked like Richie and Jon. Remember the rag dolls Richie B had in the SWW videos?
That was the kind she had. She handed them to Jon and the Richie one he held, under his chin and on his guitar while they did Wanted, which I thought was sweet.
Toward the end of the night, Jon made his rounds around the arena again and at one point, he stopped right in front of me and John.
We'd tried to get pictures and we did, but the camera was giving John fits. He'd tried to take a pic and the camera shut itself off . Jon seemed to notice this and like i said, stopped in front of us/me.
John took his picture and i waved at him, when he looked at me.
Jon waved back at me when I waved to him.
John later thanked me for making it so we had to move and even though he isn't a big fan, did say it was a great show. He also told me that when Richie is back, if they come back around and he has a job, he's going to get tickets in the same seats we had last night and take me.
Last night when I dropped him off, he gave me a big hug and kissed my cheek and thanked me for taking him with me.
I love my boy.
Him going with me, so I wouldn't have to go alone; me and him spending time alone, just the two of us; and the hug and kiss (which he seldom does), made my night.
That added to the fact of GREAT seats (thank you to the lady who understood what I was going through ) and the fact of David smiling and nodding at me, and Jon, yes girls, I said JON waving at me made it one memorable night for this 26 year JOVI GIRL.
i still wish Richie had been there. Although, John said, if he had been, I'd have probably fainted before they even started the show.
LOL
